What is the title of your CD? How did you come up with the name?

MORBID FASCINATION

Its titled Tortured Existance. It was Jimm's killer idea.

Is this your first CD and if not, how is this one different from the others?

MORBID FASCINATION

No, we recorded a previous demo. Tortured Existance was much better in terms of the material. It showed the direction we want to go.

Did you write all the songs before going into the studio or did you write them as you were recording?

MORBID FASCINATION

We always rehearse what we are going to record. We used very antiquated technology. We have to play it tight in order to track it.

Walk us thru the process of writing your music?

MORBID FASCINATION

It's a collaborative effort between Jimm and I. I usually have all the parts and a arrangement. Jimm takes over and refines it and makes the necessary adjustments. Its a free exchange of ideas. We both write music and lyrics.

Where did you record and why?

MORBID FASCINATION

We recorded at our rehearsal spot. The Kill Box. Jimm and I decided that it would be best considering where some of the elements of our music were at. It was recorded by knowing the material.

How did you pay for your recording?

MORBID FASCINATION

We didn't. We utilized what we had around us.

Did you have a producer or did you self-produce? If so, what kind of input did the producer have. If your self-produced, why?

MORBID FASCINATION

Self produced. We didn't have the resources to spend to go somewhere. It taught us a lot about recording. I have done other bands demos so I had a clue. To work with a producer would be awesome. It would be a great learning experience. We figured that when we do have the opportunity to utilize a studio. We will know exactly what level of professionalism is expected. Also what we expect from ourselves.

Did you try to capture your "live sound" or did you go for something else?

MORBID FASCINATION

We went for what sounded the best considering the tools at our disposal. We wanted it to be honest. Showing that we can play technically but we don't rely on technology to do it.

Did your record label have any input into the music you recorded?

MORBID FASCINATION

If we had a label the sound quality would be much higher. The drumming would have been held at a higher standard as well.

Are you pleased with the final product?

MORBID FASCINATION

Yes. It was a great learning experience and proves that we can play demanding music.

Will you be touring to promote your CD?

MORBID FASCINATION

We have played over 50 shows in 9 months. Its been like touring a little I would imagine. I could do it everyday.

Would rather be recording or playing live shows?

MORBID FASCINATION

Live definitely. I love playing in front of a crowd. It pushes me to be precise on a stage which is much different than a recording studio.
